This elegant concertina folded card features my original illustration of the delicate Green Woodpecker's egg, the Woodpecker himself, and the nest he makes with his partner.

Green Woodpeckers have quite sophisticated relationships, although they often partner for life and may live close to one another, they only come together after a renewing spring courtship as they prefer to live the solitary life in-between times.

Look out for Green Woodpeckers on the ground, for this is where they find their favourite food, ants. In the late spring you may be lucky enough to see Green Woodpeckers in parkland showing their young where to find this favourite food.
